Expandable graphite used as fireproof filler is a kind of graphite interlayer compound obtained by chemical or electrochemical treatment. Under heating conditions, the volume of expandable graphite expands rapidly, suffocating the flame and generating expansions at the same time, so as to isolate the flame and delay or interrupt the flame spread. Moreover, it is non combustible, has good flexibility, high surface energy and good strength of carbonized layer. However, the volume and dosage of expansion body should be selected appropriately. Test indication, 150 μ M particles, 30% expansion ratio and 5% dosage are the most appropriate. Flake graphite can be directly used as carbon conductive filler or composite conductive filler for conductive paint. However, due to the large amount of graphite flakes, the performance of the paint will become brittle, which limits its application. Therefore, measures should be taken to further improve the conductivity of graphite and effectively reduce the addition of graphite flakes.  Graphite flake anti-corrosion paint has the characteristics of anti-corrosion medium penetration, low curing residual stress, good resistance to matrix deformation and cracking, stable construction performance and long-term electrostatic conduction. It can be used for electrostatic conductive coating on the inner wall of crude oil storage tank.
